Earlier this week Marriott Bonvoy released their first global promotion of Q1 which offers registered members the chance to earn 1000 bonus points and 1 bonus Elite Night Credit each night. The Marriott Bonvoy promo applies to each eligible paid night stayed during the promotion earning period from February 7 to April 23, 2023. Members can leverage this 75 day promotion to earn up to 75,000 bonus points and 75 bonus Elite Night Credits, enough to go from no status, to Titanium Elite!
The primary requirement here is for members to register before April 9th, 2023. However, contrary to the messaging of it being a ‘global promotion’, several members were unable to see this promotion in their accounts, and worse, could not register themselves even with the direct link of the promotion (including myself).

The ‘have’s, and have-not’s’ had a field day on several forums. This also gave rise to speculation of this promotion being targeted offer. However..

During my casual twitter exchange with other bloggers, about the issues with the promotion, Marriott Bonvoy twitter team jumped in and offered to register members manually. Sure enough, I sent them a DM and was swiftly registered for the promotion.

Note that manual registration in the promotion will not trigger any email confirmation, but the promotion does show up in accounts within 24 hours, as it did for me.

Other members have reported similar success by contacting Marriott Bonvoy Elite lines, or by reaching out to Bonvoy Social Media teams. Suffice to say that Marriott Bonvoy intended for this to be a true global promotion applicable to all members, but the IT systems failed them once again. This promotion is NOT targeted, and all members should be able to register and use this lucrative promotion to kickstart their Elite journeys for 2023/2024 qualification.
The bonus Elite Night promotion is the best way for members to lock in higher Elite tier. During this promotion period, the Elite night requirements can be as low as 50%;
- Silver Elite: 10 nights 5 nights
- Gold Elite: 25 nights 13 nights
- Platinum Elite: 50 nights 25 nights
- Titanium Elite: 75 nights 38 nights
Better yet, the Canadian Marriott Bonvoy Amex Card OR the Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex Card come with 15 Elite Night Credits each calendar year, and will shave away 15 nights from the requirements above. 15 Elite nights is the maximum Canadian card holders can earn as a benefit. Members with US Marriott Bonvoy credit cards can combine up to 40 Elite nights between the personal and business cards. Note that the Elite nights obtained through credit cards, or award stays are not eligible for this bonus Elite night promotion.

If you have been unable to register for the Marriott Bonvoy promo yet, best to connect with Marriott on Twitter/Facebook, or call the Bonvoy Elite line and request to be registered for the promotion manually. Once you have been registered, plan your Elite status journeys in combination with the Elite nights earned through a credit card (or two).
