VIPorter Members Can Now Redeem Points on Alaska Airlines and Air Transat routes

Porter Airlines has significantly enhanced its VIPorter loyalty program, introducing new redemption options for its members. For the first time, VIPorter points can now be redeemed for flights with partner airlines—Air Transat and Alaska Airlines—adding over 2,000 new reward travel routes to the program’s offerings. With this expanded collaboration, VIPorter members can now access various travel options across North America, Europe, South America, Africa, and the Caribbean.

Redeem VIPorter Points with Alaska Airlines and Air Transat

Based on my initial searches, direct routes are available on Air Transat, whereas Alaska routes are available on married segments (for now). The program is prioritizing popular award destinations and will likely roll out to other cities over the next few days and weeks. For example, YEG and DUB are still not loaded, and the system does not recognize the airport codes at the time of writing this post.

• Air Transat: Offers 1,270 itineraries, connecting 56 destinations across 28 countries. VIPorter members can now redeem points for travel to Europe starting at 25,000 points, the Caribbean starting at 21,500 points, and other destinations across Air Transat’s network.

• Alaska Airlines: Opens up 1,020 flight connections, linking 11 Canadian cities to various U.S. destinations. Redemptions with Alaska Airlines for travel to the United States start at 9,500 points.

These new redemption options allow VIPorter members to book seamless travel across an expanded network, with all flights available for redemption and sale. Redemption bookings for both Air Transat and Alaska Airlines flights must be made directly through Porter’s website or customer service.

Porter also plans to launch its BMO VIPorter Mastercard lineup this spring. This new credit card will offer members additional opportunities to earn and redeem VIPorter points through everyday spending, accelerating their ability to redeem for flights with Porter, Air Transat, and Alaska Airlines.

VIPorter is poised to become a more competitive and attractive loyalty program for Canadian travellers seeking greater rewards and destination choices.
