American Airlines will open its brand-new Flagship and Admirals Club lounges in Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) Terminal A-West on May 22, 2025. These lounges will replace the Admirals Club in Terminal A-East and significantly upgrade the airport and lounge experience for eligible travellers.

Shared Access – two new American Lounges PHL
Located between gates A15 and A16, the new lounges will be accessible to AAdvantage Platinum members and above, eligible oneworld status holders, and premium cabin travellers on qualifying same-day flights. A shared reception lobby will welcome guests with smart eGates for streamlined access.
American Flagship Lounge PHL
Spanning 13,750 square feet and seating up to 200 guests, the Flagship lounge will offer an elevated experience for premium international and select transcontinental travellers. The lounge will feature a custom art piece that showcases iconic elements of Philadelphia’s cityscape — including the Liberty Bell and LOVE statue — using text from the Declaration of Independence.

Seating areas include everything from private work pods to café tables and plush loungers, all with panoramic views of the runway. Six spa-style shower suites will allow guests to freshen up between flights.

American Flagship Lounge Bar
Led by Chef Randy Rucker, a James Beard Award semifinalist, the F&B options will feature two à la carte dining menus (breakfast and all-day) available via QR code ordering. The beverage selection will include two wines on tap, six local beers, six signature cocktails, one seasonal cocktail, and two mocktails. New Klur bath products—in a scent developed with AA called Balance in Bloom—will debut here and roll out across other U.S.-based lounges.

Admirals Club Lounge PHL
Next door, the Admirals Club lounge will be 11,000 square feet and offer seating for 181 guests. The refreshed take on the classic lounge experience will mirror recent openings at DCA, DEN, and EWR, combining modern finishes with defined zones for work, rest, and dining.

Amenities will include two spa-style shower suites, two private phone booths, and a dedicated kids’ room with a TV. Guests can enjoy curated self-serve food stations, Don Francisco coffee, and a full-service bar offering a complimentary local cocktail, mocktail, Bloody Mary, and beer.
Lounge Access
Both lounges will be accessed through a shared lobby outfitted with eGates—three for the Flagship and two for the Admirals Club. This will allow for quick self-check-in while freeing up lounge staff to focus on hospitality and customer service.
Each lounge will also be able to expand by 1,364 square feet if needed, supporting peak-day traffic. High-speed Wi-Fi, multiple 55” TVs, and plentiful power outlets will keep travellers informed and connected.
