Anshul

Greetings! My name is Anshul, and I founded Points Miles and Bling. I grew up in Mumbai, India, before moving to Canada as an international student, which is now my adopted home. While I grew up around recreational travel in India, the travel itch truly gripped me when I started to travel for work – traversing four continents and about 20 countries yearly. It wasn’t long before I was diving into the deep end, trying to determine the best use of the points accumulating in my accounts. PMB was born in 2014 out of a need to share the ‘cool tricks’ I had learnt. ‘Talking points’ became my favourite pastime, and I have not stopped yakking since. Weekend live streams, cross-country meetups, and organizing points workshops have all become part of my identity. Can’t stop, won’t stop 🙂

Anthony

Originally from Sri Lanka, Anthony grew up in Toronto. He works in the downtown financial district and tries to stretch his annual leave each year as far as possible. He has been in the points and miles game for over 15 years.
Anthony is more about the “event” —enjoying a memorable meal or lacing up his hiking shoes to explore UNESCO Heritage Sites. He is also a foodie and tries to incorporate Michelin-star fine dining into his travels. He is known to opt for 3-4-star accommodations rather than 5-star hotels for most of his travels, as he prefers to explore the city he visits rather than relax in the hotel. Anthony has ticked off the Winter and Summer Olympics, the World Cup, and all 4 Tennis Grand Slams off his bucket list. He has also been to all seven continents and seen all 7 “new wonders of the world” on points.

Dalia

Dalia was born in the desert of Kuwait and moved to the snowy Capital of Canada as a child with her family. When she lived in Kuwait, she frequently travelled to Jordan during the summers to escape the Arabian Gulf heat. After moving to Canada, she often travelled to Jordan to maintain connections with her family and roots.
Dalia has always been in love with travel. Planning a trip in anticipation of a new adventure excites her even before entering an airport. Her love of travel accelerated to new heights when she discovered Points and Miles –  she was hooked! Travelling in comfort and luxury suited her well. Besides travelling from coast to coast in Canada, Dalia has travelled to countries in the Middle East, Northern Africa, and Europe. She is eager to add more stamps to her passport as she travels to more destinations worldwide while maximizing Points and Miles to make her travel experiences even more rewarding.

Sash believes that the journey is as important as the destination. Whether for a slow-paced family adventure or a fast-paced solo globetrotting tour, he strives to ensure that each trip is comfortable.

Sash grew up in small-town Fredericton, New Brunswick, on the east coast of Canada, before moving to Ottawa after his post-graduate studies. He has travelled the world with his family growing up and continued the travel adventures while working as a management consultant, living out of hotels 300+ days/year and zigzagging across the globe continuously. Having attained top-tier statuses and many reward points, Sash made it his mission to learn how to redeem optimally. Today, he travels solely for pleasure, employing diverse booking strategies, and is on a quest to push the limits of luxe travel continuously using his points and miles.

Emily Birkett

Growing up in Guelph, ON, Emily is pretty sure she was born with a suitcase in hand! She spent her childhood travelling across Canada, the U.S. and Mexico on family trips, and those early adventures sparked her love for exploring new places. Little did she know it would turn into a lifelong passion.

In 2021, she landed what felt like a dream job—an international travel role that took her all over the world. Her passion for travel grew bigger every single day as she frequently visited the Middle East and China, which only fueled her desire to see even more of the world.

While she appreciates a luxurious experience (hello, Ritz-Carlton!), she’s always up for a spontaneous, budget-friendly adventure—because the best stories often come from those unplanned moments. Emily hopped on the points bandwagon to make her business travel more comfortable and to maximize her travel opportunities. Now, every new destination feels like a gift, and there’s nothing better than the thrill of exploring somewhere for the first time.

Fun fact: In one incredible year, she checked off three of the world’s most iconic wonders—Petra, the Pyramids, and the Great Wall of China. Her goal is simple: see as much of the world as possible. And with every new adventure, she’s one step closer to making that dream a reality!

Mohammad

Comfy lie-flat seat? Deep fried street food? Macarons as a welcome amenity? Mohammad loves it all! Having grown up in the UAE and originally from Pakistan, jumping on airplanes with the smell of biryani in the cabin was a familiar childhood memory. Despite longingly peeking into the forward cabin on many occasions, it wasn’t until life required him to travel frequently between Calgary and Ottawa that Mohammad would stumble upon the world of points and travel in premium cabins.

Nowadays, Mohammad’s travel style has evolved to a slower pace on the ground, spending more time understanding the culture, history, food and general vibe of a destination, all while spending time in the best hotels a miles enthusiast can hope to choose from. Mohammad can often be found helping friends and family plan travel in the hope of assisting them in checking off bucket list destinations for a fraction of the average cost. When not contributing to PMB, it’s a sure bet he’ll either be nose-deep into his newest cookbook or busy excitedly planning his next adventure with an eye on sharing his insights and experiences with the broader community – hopeful that it inspires others to step out of their comfort zone while exploring this magnificent planet.
