Brightline, an intercity rail service connecting key destinations across Central and South Florida, has partnered with Porter Airlines to provide a unique travel option for Canadians heading to Florida this winter. Facilitated by VISIT FLORIDA, this collaboration offers travellers added convenience and cost savings for exploring multiple regions of the Sunshine State.
Brightline and Porter Airlines – Connecting Canada and Florida
The partnership enables Porter Airlines passengers to receive 50% off adult SMART fares on select Brightline trains between South Florida and Orlando. This offer aligns with the high travel season when many Canadians travel to Florida to escape the cold weather.
Brightline operates between Orlando and South Florida, with stations in Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach. The rail service connects major destinations, including Orlando’s theme parks, South Florida’s city centers, and key cruise ports like Port Miami, Port Everglades, and Port of Palm Beach. Travellers cruising from Port Canaveral can connect to Brightline through Orlando International Airport.
Brightline’s recent expansion includes doubling its Airport Connector Shuttle service, which links Miami International Airport (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to their respective Brightline stations. Running every 15 minutes, these shuttles provide additional connectivity for travellers using South Florida’s busiest airports. Shuttle rides cost $10 for the first guest and $5 for additional passengers in the same group, with service available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Porter Airlines’s Increased Florida Presence
Thanks to the Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, Porter Airlines has expanded its offerings to meet the increasing demand for Florida-bound travel from Canada. The airline now operates up to 126 weekly flights from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL), Ottawa International Airport (YOW), and Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ). Porter Airlines serves four Florida destinations that feature Brightline stations: Orlando (MCO), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), West Palm Beach (PBI), and Miami (MIA).
Takeaway
This Brightline and Porter Airlines partnership underscores the importance of the Canadian travel market to Florida’s tourism industry. Whether flying into Orlando for a theme park vacation or heading to South Florida’s cruise ports, the partnership ensures Canadian visitors can easily navigate their Florida itineraries this winter.

Not at all clear how/if you can use the discount when arriving at MCO and travelling to, say, Fort Lauderdale.
This was just the announcement of the partnership. Brightline confirms that a Promo/Offer code will be sent to Brightline members this week, which will then be available to public shortly after.
