Air Canada has expanded its transatlantic network with the launch of a new direct service connecting Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to Edinburgh Airport (EDI). The inaugural flight departed from Montréal on the evening of June 26, 2025.

This seasonal route leverages YUL as a connecting hub for travel between North America and Scotland. This is Air Canada’s latest European route launch in a busy summer season. The airline recently inaugurated direct services from Montréal to Porto (OPO) and Toronto (YYZ) to Prague (PRG), as well as introducing a new route to Naples (NAP) in May. In April, Air Canada also brought back its direct flights from Ottawa (YOW) to London Heathrow (LHR), a key link for travellers from the Canadian capital.

The Montreal–Edinburgh route will be operated using the Boeing 737 MAX 8, three times weekly during the summer peak period.

Flight Departs Arrives Days of Week 2025 Operating dates
AC936 Montréal 21:40 Edinburgh 9:05 +1 day Monday, Thursday, Saturday June 26 to Sep. 7
AC937 Edinburgh 11:15 Montréal 13:35 Tuesday, Friday, Sunday June 27 to Sep. 7

The route is now available to book using Aeroplan points for as little as 34,500 points in Economy. At the time of writing, it shows multiple seat availability across the summer months, facilitating family travel to and from Europe.
