From October 2 – 8, members can participate in Aeroplan Points Matching Week to support the Air Canada Foundation’s Hospital Transportation Program. This program, now in its 20th year, aids children and families across Canada in reaching medical facilities for treatments not available in their local communities.
Air Canada Foundation – Hospital Transportation Program
Created in 2003, the Hospital Transportation Program helps connect children to the medical care they need away from home by redistributing Aeroplan points to 15 pediatric hospitals across Canada. With the contribution of millions of Aeroplan points to 15 children’s hospitals nationwide, young patients and accompanying parents can have access to medical care not offered in their community. This program is life-changing for the families and gives them peace of mind while they deal with their child’s hospitalization.

During Points Matching Week, which runs from October 2 – 8, every Aeroplan point you donate will be matched by Aeroplan up to 20 million points. Aeroplan’s partners TD, CIBC and Avis Budget Group are also matching member donations, enhancing the impact of your contribution. 100% of your donated Aeroplan points will go directly to the Hospital Transportation Program.
The program supports 15 nationwide pediatric hospitals, including renowned institutions like BC Children’s Hospital, Alberta Children’s Hospital, The Hospital for Sick Children, and Montreal Children’s Hospital. In 2022, 179 families benefited, with 226 flights facilitated through the Hospital Transportation Program. The Foundation raised $1.4 million and 2.92 million Aeroplan points, directly supporting various programs, including the Hospital Transportation Program.
