Cathay Pacific has officially opened its redesigned flagship lounge at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK). The Beijing lounge redesign is part of a broader investment plan that includes a full refresh of Cathay Pacific’s lounges in Hong Kong and expansion into new international markets.
-
Hong Kong: The airline recently reopened The Bridge and converted The Deck into an interim First Class lounge while renovations continue at The Wing, First (set to reopen in 2026) and subsequently The Wing, Business. Customers can also access The Pier, First and The Pier Business, both well-established lounges at the carrier’s home hub.
-
Future Lounges: Cathay will introduce new flagship lounges in Hong Kong and, for the first time, in New York, part of the Cathay Group’s HK$100 billion investment in new aircraft, cabin products, lounges, and digital innovations.

The welcome experience follows Cathay Pacific’s updated design standard, replacing the traditional check-in counter with a podium-style reception first introduced at The Bridge in Hong Kong. For the first time outside Hong Kong, the lounge also features Cathay Pacific Lounge Ambassadors to provide personalized customer service throughout the space. The main lounge area features designer furniture, private spaces, and open communal areas.

The Beijing lounge also introduces three distinct dining propositions:
- The Noodle Bar, a Cathay Pacific signature worldwide, will offer freshly prepared wonton and dan dan noodles, along with regional Chinese specialties.

- The Food Hall looks like a contemporary self-serve dining area which will provide international selections, including hot dishes, salads, and baked goods.

- The Teahouse, introduced outside Hong Kong for the first time, will feature freshly brewed Chinese teas curated by Cathay Pacific’s tea specialists.

A standout feature of the redesigned lounge, The Terrace will be a light-filled verandah space with an open-ceiling setting. The area also showcases Cathay Pacific’s bespoke Solo Chairs, providing a private, multi-functional seating option for travellers.
Takeaway
The redesigned Cathay Pacific flagship lounge at Beijing PEK will complement the seven daily return flights between Hong Kong and Beijing. Beyond Hong Kong and Mainland China, Cathay Pacific also operates lounges in key destinations such as London, Paris, Vancouver, Tokyo, Manila, and Singapore.
