Harbour Air has officially teamed up with Aeroplan to make frequent travel more rewarding. Travellers can now earn and redeem Aeroplan points on Harbour Air flights. Earning capabilities start today, while Aeroplan redemption is scheduled to go live in early 2026.
Aeroplan and Harbour Air partnership
This partnership builds on Harbour Air’s existing loyalty program – Harbour Air Club – launched in August 2025. The program rewards frequent flyers with perks like priority services and Club Credits that can be redeemed for additional benefits. It features three tiers with the current qualifying period running until March 1, 2026.
Blue: automatically granted upon creating an account. Earn 5 Club Credits per $1, access member-only offers, and receive a Companion Voucher for every 7,000 Credits earned.
Silver: requires 8,000 Credits or 14 flights. Earn 6 Credits per $1, access exclusive offers, receive 2 scenic tour vouchers, waived excess baggage (25 lbs), priority customer service, 10 free terminal beverages, and ongoing Companion Vouchers.
Gold: requires 18,000 Credits or 30 flights. Earn 7 Credits per $1, enjoy premium offers, 4 scenic tour vouchers, 2 companion vouchers, waived excess baggage (40 lbs), waived before day-of-flight change fees, priority boarding and service, and 1 free terminal beverage per flight, plus Companion Vouchers every 7,000 Credits.
Earning Aeroplan Points
Through this new partnership, Harbour Air Club members can earn (and eventually redeem) Aeroplan points on all scheduled flights booked at an eligible fare. Points are awarded at a fixed rate based on fare type: Flex earns 200 points, Comfort earns 150 points, and Value earns 100 points per flight. While straightforward, this fixed-earn model is fairly restrictive and makes it challenging to accumulate a meaningful number of Aeroplan points through Harbour Air alone.
Redeeming Aeroplan Points
Aeroplan members will be able to redeem their points and book Harbour Air flights in early 2026. All existing Harbour Air routes are under 500 miles and don’t offer Premium Economy or Business Class, meaning redemptions will typically fall into Zone 1 of the North America award chart, starting at 6,000 points. For example, a flight from Vancouver Harbour (downtown) to Tofino is about 175 miles and would cost 6,000 Aeroplan points.

About Harbour Air
Harbour Air is one of British Columbia’s most unique ways to travel. An all-seaplane regional airline that connects 15 destinations across the West Coast, including Vancouver, Victoria, Salt Spring Island, Nanaimo, Tofino, Whistler, Seattle and more. They focus on serving local travellers and commuters through operating scheduled flights, private charters, and scenic tours, and are one of the largest all-seaplane carriers in the world.

Benefits of Flying with Harbour Air
One of Harbour Air’s biggest advantages is convenience. While airlines like Air Canada may offer competitive fares, Harbour Air posts strong deals of its own, such as the ones on right now: $59 one-way from downtown Vancouver to Nanaimo and $139 one-way from YVR to Tofino, and travellers don’t need to deal with the stress and added time of busy airports.
And although ferry foot-passenger fares start around $15, travelling without a car means you still need to get to and from the ferry terminals, often by transit, rideshare, or taxi, which can add both cost and a significant amount of time. Routes that take hours by car and ferry can often be done in just 20–40 minutes on Harbour Air, especially downtown-to-downtown. Once you factor in transportation and time, Harbour Air can be faster, more convenient, and sometimes surprisingly comparable in total cost.
Harbour Air makes the most sense for travellers heading to destinations that are time-consuming to reach by ferry and/or road, people without a vehicle, those travelling solo or as a pair, and anyone who values time savings and a unique, scenic travel experience.
Considerations
Because the aircraft are small, baggage allowances are limited. This isn’t an issue if you’re packing light, but if you’re travelling with multiple bags or bulky items, a traditional airline or ferry may be a better fit.
It’s also worth considering comfort. Seaplanes can be noisier and more sensitive to weather conditions than larger commercial aircraft. If you’re someone who is prone to motion discomfort or prefers very smooth flights, another mode of transportation might feel more comfortable.
It wouldn’t necessarily make sense for travellers who want the freedom of having a vehicle at their destination, budget-conscious travellers who don’t mind longer travel times, travellers who are sensitive to noise and motion, and families or larger groups where driving becomes more economical.
Takeaway
Harbour Air’s new partnership with Aeroplan adds value for frequent travellers. However, the fixed earning structure means you won’t accumulate large amounts of Aeroplan points from Harbour Air flights alone, but the ability to both earn and redeem points (plus continue earning Club Credits and tier benefits) strengthens the overall loyalty experience.
