New Elevated Offers on Amex Cards, up to 150k in welcome bonus

Amex Canada has kicked off 2026 in the best way possible, first by improving the transfer ratio for Flying Blue to 1:1 and now launching new, elevated bonuses on several cards through targeted referral offers. Some members are reporting elevated referral bonuses on their cards and through their referral links. While I was hoping for the return of the popular Double Refer-a-Friend bonus that launched last January, it appears Amex is starting 2026 with these targeted elevated offers instead. Here are some of the elevated bonus offers reported for select cardmembers;

The Business Platinum Card^™ from American Express^®

• Elevated Offer: Earn up to 150,000 Membership Rewards® points
  • 100,000 Welcome Bonus points after you charge $15,000 in net purchases to your Card in your first 3 months of Cardmembership.
  • 50,000 points when you make a purchase between 15 and 17 months of Cardmembership.

The Platinum Card^®

• Elevated Offer: Earn up to 140,000 Membership Rewards® points
  • 90,000 Welcome Bonus points after you charge $10,000 in net purchases to your Card in your first 3 months of Cardmembership.
  • 50,000 points when you make a purchase between 15 and 17 months of Cardmembership.

American Express^® Gold Rewards Card

• Elevated Offer: Earn up to 90,000 Membership Rewards® points
  • 60,000 Membership Rewards points annually – 5,000 points for each monthly billing period in which you spend $1,000 in purchases on your Card.
  • 30,000 Welcome Bonus points after you charge $4,000 in net purchases to your Card in your first 3 months of Cardmembership.

American Express Cobalt^® Card

• Elevated Offer: Earn up to 22,000 Membership Rewards® points
  • 1,250 Membership Rewards^® points for each monthly billing period in which you spend $750 in purchases on your Card, for a total of 15,000 points.
  • 7,000 points after you charge $2,500 in net purchases to your Card in your first 3 months of Cardmembership.
