United Airlines has announced its latest in premium international travel with an elevated interior for its new Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The new interior includes new United Polaris Studio Suites, redesigned Polaris suites, expanded premium offerings, and upgraded amenities across all cabins. The first Boeing 787-9 with this new interior is expected to join the fleet by the end of 2025, with the inaugural passenger flights planned for 2026 on routes from San Francisco to Singapore and London. United plans to incorporate the elevated interior on at least 30 aircraft by 2027.

The new Boeing 787-9 with the elevated interior will feature a range of seating configurations:
- United Polaris Studio Suites: 8 seats in a 1-2-1 layout
- United Polaris Suites: 56 seats in a 1-2-1 layout
- United Premium Plus: 35 seats in a 2-3-2 layout

Takeaway
United has not shared any plans to retrofit the existing fleet of Polaris cabins, so we can only hope that the rollout of the new 787-9 aircraft is as per the mentioned timeline. The inaugural flight is scheduled for 2026, with 30 aircraft expected to join in 2027. The elevated aircraft design, especially the new United Polaris Studio, looks great, but it will be a while before we can enjoy some of these features in person.
