Air Canada passengers travelling through Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) have a refreshed option to relax before their flights. Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge LAX reopened on November 26, 2024, after significant refurbishment. The updated lounge is designed for premium passengers on domestic and international routes and offers additional modernized space with enhanced amenities.
The revamped Maple Leaf Lounge at LAX has gained 250 square feet of space. The updates also include:
- Power outlets at every seat
- Productivity-focused seating arrangements
- Communal tables for dining or collaboration
These improvements aim to create a more efficient and comfortable environment, allowing passengers to work, dine, or unwind before their flights. Here are some photos of the lounge provided by Air Canada;
Air Canada operates Maple Leaf Lounges in 19 airports worldwide, including locations at New York’s LaGuardia and Newark airports and Los Angeles and San Francisco in California. The reopening of Maple Leaf Lounge LAX is part of Air Canada’s broader lounge modernization and expansion efforts. Last year, the airline introduced a brand new Maple Leaf lounge in SFO with premium amenities and a stunning terrace and re-established its presence at Newark Terminal A with a dedicated space within the new United Club.
The Maple Leaf Lounges are accessible to the following passengers:
- Aeroplan 50K, 75K, and Super Elite Status members
- Star Alliance Gold members
- Aeroplan premium co-brand cardholders
- Customers travelling in business class with Air Canada or another Star Alliance member airline.

Agreed. The additional space (~250 sq ft) and modernising connectivity in the lounge are the truly ‘new bits’ since they closed for reno.
Looks better than Canada Post, the incompetent postal service that has been on strike for 2 weeks.
So if you are Star Alliance Gold status flying on United on a domestic US flight -can you use this lounge ?
Yes, confirming that you can use this lounge if you are Star Gold and flying United domestic. Here is the related info from their T&C on access to MLL;
‘Maple Leaf Lounges are reserved for customers departing on flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, Air Canada Express or a Star Alliance member airline. Exception: Aeroplan Super Elite, Aeroplan 75K and 50K Members as well as their qualifying guests may access the domestic Maple Leaf Lounges at airports in Canada and the U.S. upon arriving on an Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge or Air Canada Express flight.’
