The title is most of the way there…if you’re booking a paid flight to Europe this summer anyway, Air France and KLM are handing out an easy 10,000 bonus Flying Blue miles. There’s some fine print, but not much.

Full Details

Air France and KLM are offering a 10,000-mile bonus to Canadian residents who book a flight departing Canada on Air France or KLM. All economy flights booked by May 3, 2026, for travel completed by September 30, 2026, qualify. Changes to existing bookings are not eligible for the bonus.

It must be a cash-paid ticket, with the first leg departing Canada on Air France/KLM. That means if you don’t live in a city with Air France or KLM flights, you would need to position to take advantage of this promo.

Only one segment needs to be on Air France/KLM, but the above condition means the first flight will always count. The flight must be both marketed and operated by Air France or KLM, so book directly to ensure Air France or KLM issues your ticket.

Add your Canadian residency to your Flying Blue profile and attach your Flying Blue number to the booking. You don’t need to enter a promotion code.

How Far Does 10,000 Flying Blue Miles Go?

10,000 Flying Blue miles get you most of the way to a one-way economy ticket from North America to Europe, on a Promo Reward. The regular one-way price is 25,000 miles, and it’s regularly discounted to 18,750 miles during monthly promo rewards, rotating through different cities.

Air France also offers Promo Rewards for short-haul flights within Europe, with one-way fares in business class dropping to 7,500 miles. 10,000 miles will more than cover your entire base fare (since you still have to pay fuel surcharge and government taxes) in this instance.

The cheapest one-way transatlantic business class award costs 45,000 miles during a Promo Reward sale, so this gets you 22% of the way there.

It’s not a life-changing number of miles, but it’s a nice bonus if you’re booking a trip to Europe this summer anyway. If fares are similar, 10,000 extra miles would be enough to sway me toward Air France over Air Canada.

Make the Most of This

Per the rules, each person travelling earns 10,000 miles. If you’re booking a family trip, make sure each person, including children, has a Flying Blue number registered to their Canadian address and attach each Flying Blue number to the respective ticket.

Flying Blue offers family pooling, so a family of four would earn 4 sets of 10,000 miles, which is a lot more useful when combined into a single pool of 40,000. By flying your family to Europe in economy, you would earn basically enough miles for a one-way business class ticket; keep in mind you’re also earning the usual redeemable miles, just with the 10,000-mile bonus on top.

Use your Brim-issued Air France KLM World Elite Mastercard to earn a bonus 5 miles per euro spent on Air France and KLM. Otherwise, use any card with a travel multiplier, such as the Amex Gold/Platinum/Cobalt (2X MR) or Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite Privilege (3X Scene+).

Takeaway

If you’re planning a paid economy trip to Europe this summer, this is an easy way to pick up an extra 10,000 Flying Blue miles per person. If you’re already planning to book a paid economy trip to Europe this summer, this is an easy way to earn an extra 10,000 Flying Blue miles per person. For families embarking on Euro summer, remember you can combine miles through Flying Blue Family.

With a booking window until May 3, 2026, and all travel completed by September 30, the window to take advantage of this offer is short. If Air France or KLM fares are competitive for your travel dates, it may be worth booking soon to lock in the bonus.
