Flying Blue is the frequent flyer program for Air France, KLM, Transavia, Air Calin, Kenya Airways, and TAROM. Members can earn or buy miles and redeem them on an extensive network of over 30 partner airlines in North America, including Delta and WestJet.

This month’s Flying Blue Promo Rewards feature Minneapolis and Mexico City for discounted Business Class awards, New York, San Francisco, Boston, Vancouver, and San Diego for discounted Premium Economy flights. As usual, there are quite a few cities for economy-class flights, but the overall list is significantly longer than last month, which we’re happy to see.

Keep in mind Flying Blue is making significant changes to award bookings, namely separating each cabin into Light, Standard, and Flex tiers. The lowest-priced Light awards will come with fewer inclusions and less flexibility than today’s award tickets, while Standard and Flex awards will cost more miles. These changes kick in September 8, so you have 7 days to lock in any of these Promo Rewards under the current rules for travel well into next year.

Flying Blue Promo Rewards – September 2026

Flying Blue’s Promo Rewards offer monthly discounts, typically 25% on award flights to specific destinations. For September 2026, Promo Rewards can be booked for travel until February 28, 2027.

Extra Exclusive Cities

Flying Blue also offers “Extra Exclusive” cities, where more cities are available on Promo Reward, but only for Flying Blue Extra subscribers (see below). Here are the North American gateways available:

  • Toronto to/from Europe: 25% off Air France in Premium Economy – from 30,000 miles one-way
  • Miami to/from Europe: 25% off Air France in Economy – from 18,750 miles one-way

The complete list of destinations available on Promo Rewards is available on the Flying Blue website.

Flying Blue Subscribe to Miles

Flying Blue offers a subscription program, “Subscribe to Miles,” that allows members to purchase miles at a favourable rate monthly. The program includes four subscription tiers:

  • Starter: 2,000 miles for $34.20 USD per month
  • Smart: 5,000 miles for $79 USD per month
  • Advanced: 10,000 miles for $146 USD per month
  • Complete: 17,000 miles for $227.80 USD per month

At the highest level (Complete), the cost per mile comes down to 1.34 cents per mile, which is be considerably cheaper than purchasing miles outright. A key advantage of the subscription program is that the first installment of miles posts to your account almost instantly after subscribing, enabling immediate redemptions. Additionally, members can cancel their subscriptions at any time, even before the second installment is due.

Flying Blue – Subscribe to Miles

The subscription program creates a low-cost opportunity, even for someone starting with a zero Flying Blue balance, to take advantage of the Promo Rewards. By subscribing to the Complete tier, a member can purchase 17,000 miles for $227.80 USD. With Promo Rewards offering discounted tickets for as low as 18,750 miles one-way in Economy Class, this subscription effectively unlocks award travel from North America to Europe at an exceptionally low cost.

By combining Flying Blue Promo Rewards with Subscribe to Miles, members can unlock significant savings compared to cash fares or other redemption opportunities to Europe from North America. Happy booking!

Takeaway

Flying Blue Promo Rewards are worth checking every month, particularly if you’re planning travel between North America and Europe. A 25% discount can bring economy awards down to 18,750 miles, Premium Economy to 30,000 miles, and Business Class to just 45,000 miles one-way when your city is included.

Availability can be limited, so it’s worth searching as soon as a useful route appears. With Flying Blue miles relatively easy to earn through transferable points programs or purchase through Subscribe to Miles, Promo Rewards remain one of the better opportunities to book discounted award travel to Europe.

Great article as usual. Just note that the CPP cost for flying blue subscription is 1.34 in USD. If paying in CAD with canadian address, there’s taxes on top of this. Cost would be about 2.1cpp CAD (if in Ontario). Getting points via Chexy is cheaper than this (1.4 cpp if using a 1.25x card when the fee is 1.75%).

Totally fair point, and the value I see in the subscription is the ability to accrue a large volume at once, then you can pause the subscription immediately. It also unlocks additional promo reward cities, which add some value.
