I travel a lot between Canada and India, and flying throne seats on Swiss Business Class with a layover in Zurich is my comfort zone. However, the tired Swiss Panorama lounge in terminal E, operated by swissport were a major let down until 2016. The new Swiss Business lounge Zurich is an absolute game changer, arguably, the best business lounge in the world!
Swiss Business lounge Zurich
The lounge is a long passage with stylish wooden flooring and seating available on both sides.
The seating in the lounge is of a wide variety, with wooden tables and chairs, bar stools overlooking the terrace and leather chairs – something for everyone. The lounge decor was simple and elegant, with plenty of natural light and private spaces.
The lounge also includes six work stations with comfortable chairs, desk space with power outlet and lots of privacy.
And if working in a lounge is not your idea of layover, the pods with leather recliners are very comfortable and offer a great space to snooze.
The comfortable leather seats across the lounge were equipped with several styles of power outlets, which is a great touch for passenger convenience.
I was in the lounge really early in the morning with only a handful to people around. The complimentary WiFi was incredible and I was able to stream and upload pictures/videos with ease. The WiFi code is provided at check-in, worked on two devices and is valid for 24 hours.
The star attraction of the lounge is the terrace deck that offers incredible views of the mountains, landing strip and birds-eye view of the flight gates – an avgeek delight!
As an aviation enthusiast, it is quite the experience to sit and watch some of the best airlines in the world “do their thing”.
Swiss Business lounge Zurich goes a step ahead and offers binoculars on the deck to soak in the mountains and the flight landings!
With the right weather and company, the terrace offers THE BEST way to spend a few hours at Zurich airport.
Food in Swiss Business lounge Zurich
The extensive spread of food included everything from made-to-order food, sweet and savory snacks and premium selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. The open concept kitchen is definitely the highlight as the chef whips up omelettes, pastas and risottos among other mouth watering delicacies.
What about that breakfast with a view!
Take Away
Swiss Business lounge Zurich in terminal E, is my favorite business lounge in the world and one I look forward to each time I fly through Zurich. The lounge is accessible to passengers flying business class Gold status members of the Star Alliance network.
