Take Away

The true take away here would be that the Chase Aeroplan Card is a premium Aeroplan card at a mid-tier price point. The sign-up bonus of 75,000 points is straightforward to earn with a simple $4,000 spending requirement. It’s the only Aeroplan co-branded card that offers elite status as part of the signup bonus and even a possible one-time status upgrade if you can hit the $75,000 spending requirement.

The biggest benefit is for those earning or maintaining elite status: earning 25,000 SQCs (the max allowed through credit cards) requires just $50,000 USD in spending on this $95 USD annual fee card, compared to needing to spend $125,000 CAD in Canada on a Visa Infinite Privilege card with a $599 annual fee.
