Updated August 10, 2026: Kenya Airways has added Accor Live Limitless (ALL) status as status match-eligible, which opens up a very interesting opportunity to pay your entire way to SkyTeam Elite Plus. Full details below.
Original Post written July 2, 2026 (all status matches still valid):
Status Match has rolled out a slew of new offers, with the highlight being the ability to status your way to OneWorld Sapphire and SkyTeam Elite Plus status. Most require airline status, though one lets you match hotel status directly to SkyTeam Elite Plus, which is by far the most compelling opportunity.
Overall, the most compelling opportunity is with GHA Discovery, which we’ve already covered. Basically, pay $150 USD to match to top-tier Titanium status, but get half of that as Discovery Dollars (D$). This opportunity ends September 1, 2026.
For most of the offers below, there is no published end date, so I’d take advantage of them sooner rather than later, as I believe the offers will be pulled once an airline has received a certain number of applications.
Among all the status match offers, Kenya Airways stands out by matching a wide range of hotel and airline statuses to top-tier SkyTeam status. As of August 3, Accor status is match-eligible with Kenya Airways and fun fact: you can purchase Accor Gold status outright and match to top-tier Platinum Elite Plus, equivalent to SkyTeam Elite Plus.
Status Match to SkyTeam Elite Plus with Kenya Airways — Match Now
Kenya Airways Asante Rewards offers SkyTeam Elite Plus at the Gold tier. Here’s a highlight reel of what qualifies (complete list):
- Air Canada Elite 50K
- Alaska Atmos Rewards Gold
- American AAdvantage Platinum
- United MileagePlus Premier Gold
- WestJet Rewards Gold
Status tiers above this will qualify for Kenya Airways Platinum Elite Plus, but SkyTeam alliance-wide benefits are the same.

“Credit Card” only gets Silver
Notably, you can use hotel status to qualify for Kenya Airways Asante Gold Elite Plus and unlock the same SkyTeam Elite Plus benefits (hotel status can’t match to Platinum, but SkyTeam benefits are the same as Gold, anyway). Here are the most relevant:
- Hilton Honors Gold and above
- Hyatt Explorist and above
- IHG One Gold Elite and above
- Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite and above
Remember that you can get Hilton Honors Gold and Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite just by holding the Amex Platinum or Amex Business Platinum cards.
All status tiers below the ones described above match to Kenya Airways Asante Silver Elite, which is equivalent to SkyTeam Elite and is not worth the fee ($99 USD for Silver). Matching to Kenya Airways Gold Elite Plus costs $299 USD, which is well worth it for SkyTeam Elite Plus benefits if you expect to fly SkyTeam a couple of times within the next year.
The headline benefit of SkyTeam Elite Plus is access to business class lounges for you and a guest (when flying SkyTeam). Of course, you still get the usual priority check-in, security, baggage handling, and more. One downside to note is you do not get free seat selection on Air France business class with SkyTeam Elite Plus (you do with SAS, so your mileage may vary).
Once your status match goes through, it’s valid for 12 months.
Pay Your Way to SkyTeam Elite Plus with Accor
What’s new is that Kenya Airways is matching Accor Live Limitless (ALL) status. Interestingly, you can purchase ALL Gold through the Accor Plus Explorer package for around $249 USD, although the price varies by country and is generally lower in parts of Asia. Accor Plus Explorer includes ALL Gold status, which can then be matched to Kenya Airways’ top-tier Platinum status for a $299 fee. In other words, you can work your way to SkyTeam Elite Plus without holding any baseline status.
At $549 USD, it certainly isn’t cheap. However, it could make sense for families who regularly check bags, especially given the other benefits included with Accor Plus Explorer. Kenya Airways Platinum is also useful when flying Delta within the United States: foreign SkyTeam Elite Plus members receive Delta Sky Club access on domestic economy itineraries, a benefit Delta’s own elite members generally don’t receive.
Accor Plus Explorer also comes with two Stay Plus certificates, hotel discounts of up to 50%, dining discounts, and other perks. You receive 2,000 ALL points immediately upon purchase, worth €40 (roughly $45 USD), since ALL points are used by redeeming at a fixed rate towards your hotel folio.

The Stay Plus certificate is essentially a buy-one-get-one-free benefit: book two nights and one becomes free. I’m intrigued enough to consider Accor Plus Explorer for my next trip across the Pacific. One online data point shows a Stay Plus redemption at Hotel St. Moritz Queenstown, an MGallery property where paid nights cost more than $300.
Two weeks ago, Amex also added ALL as a transfer partner. Elite status matching is expected later this year, giving Platinum, Small Business Platinum, and Corporate Platinum cardholders ALL Gold status to match directly to Kenya Airways.
Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles – Match Now
Vietnam Airlines is also offering a status match for SkyTeam status, but it’s not as lucrative as the Kenya Airways one. For Canadians, both airline and hotel status are eligible, but only airline status qualifies for Lotusmiles Platinum, equivalent to SkyTeam Elite Plus:
- Air Canada Elite 50K and above
- Alaska Atmos Rewards Titanium
- American Airlines Platinum Pro and above
- United MileagePlus Premier Gold and above
- WestJet Platinum
See the full list on the Vietnam Airlines Status Match page. Any status below the list above, and all hotel statuses, can only match to Lotusmiles Titanium or Gold, neither of which offers meaningful benefits, as they’re equivalent to SkyTeam Elite.
This match is also paid and more expensive than what Kenya Airways is charging: $129 USD for airline status match to Titanium, $219 USD for Gold, and $359 USD for Platinum. The equivalent tier (SkyTeam Elite Plus) costs only $299 USD with Kenya Airways, and hotel status is also eligible.

Getting SkyTeam Elite Plus status is both more difficult and more expensive with Vietnam Airlines than with Kenya Airways
Hotel status matching to the lowest Lotusmiles Titanium tier costs $149, and needless to say, it’s not worth it.
Still, the reason to mention Vietnam Airlines as an option is it’s more useful if you’re actually on Vietnam Airlines: Gold may not grant lounge access at the alliance level, but it does grant Vietnam Airlines lounge access should you be jetting across the country on domestic flights.
Status Match to Oneworld Sapphire with Royal Jordanian — Match Now
Royal Jordanian has offered a rather lucrative status match to OneWorld Sapphire a few times now, and the most recent iteration includes Canada among the eligible countries. Only airline status qualifies for matching to Gold Sparrow, which is equivalent to Oneworld Sapphire:
Target Gold Sparrow for Oneworld Sapphire, and here are the most relevant airline statuses eligible:
- Air Canada Elite 50K and above
- Air France Gold and above
- WestJet Gold and above
Delta and United statuses do not qualify. Royal Jordanian Gold Sparrow (Oneworld Sapphire) is the highest tier available for status matching and hotel statuses are not eligible for matching. Hotel status, and any status below what’s listed above, are eligible to match to Silver Jay (Oneworld Ruby), which does not come with any meaningful alliance-wide benefits.
The fee for matching to Silver Jay is $49 USD, while Gold Sparrow costs $149 USD. At $149, I think it’s well worth the price.

Getting Oneworld Sapphire for $149 is well worth it
Oneworld Sapphire includes business class lounge access across its alliance network, including American Airlines when flying domestically. Keep in mind that neither American Airlines first class passengers nor American AAdvantage elite members have lounge access when flying domestic. Only Oneworld status with a foreign airline qualifies for access, including Royal Jordanian.
Another benefit is free seat selection, which is especially valuable with Qatar Airways Qsuites business class.
Status Match to Club Avolta Gold Status (Free) — Match Now
Have you ever heard of Club Avolta? Me neither, until Aeroplan announced a partnership a few days ago. Avolta is the world’s largest travel retailer and accounts for much of the duty-free and restaurants at airports in North America.
Now, you can earn Aeroplan points when shopping at Avolta stores. By taking advantage of this free status match to Avolta Gold, you’ll also get up to 7% off when shopping and 5% off food and drink. There are also exclusive discounts with other hotels, lounges, lifestyle brands, and car rental companies, but I wouldn’t include those as part of the value proposition.
You’ll also have access to additional savings via an exclusive member discount, but I’m not sure if Gold has access to more deals. In any case, the status match is free, with all airline elite and all hotel elite statuses being eligible.

Club Avolta Gold Status is open to all
Basically, Club Avolta is giving everyone Gold status for free.
Takeaway
If you’re eligible, these status match opportunities are among the fastest ways to unlock meaningful alliance-wide benefits without earning status the traditional way. The two standout offers are Kenya Airways Asante Gold Elite Plus and Royal Jordanian Gold Sparrow, which grant SkyTeam Elite Plus and Oneworld Sapphire respectively. Both provide access to business class lounges across their alliances and are well worth considering if you have upcoming travel with SkyTeam or Oneworld.
One advantage Kenya Airways holds is the ability to match hotel status directly to SkyTeam Elite Plus, making it accessible to many more travellers. As with most status match opportunities, though, these offers can disappear without notice, so it’s worth applying sooner rather than later if they fit your travel plans.
