Current IHG 80% bonus points promotion can work wonderfully well in conjunction with the soon-to-be-released PointBreaks promotion. The current IHG 80% bonus promotion is available for purchases made between April 18, 2018, and May 31, 2018. Whereas, the next round of IHG PointBreaks locations will be announced Monday, April 30th.
IHG 80% Bonus Promotion
The bonuses are tiered;
40% bonus on purchase of 5,000 – 19,000 points
60% bonus on purchase of 20,000 – 29,000 points
80% bonus on purchase of 30,000 – 100,000 points
Recently IHG increased the purchase cap from 60K to a 100,000 points. Members may purchase a maximum of 100,000 points per calendar year and receive as a gift a maximum of 100,000 points per calendar year. Under this promotion, purchase of 100,000 points for $1,000 USD would yield a total of 180,000 points giving a value of 0.55 CPM – a great value.

Additionally, IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card offers fourth night free on award redemption, which enhances the points purchase value even further. Normally, points purchased post and appear in account within 24 hours, but can take unto 72 hours in some cases.
IHG PointBreaks
While purchasing points at 0.55 CPM is great by itself, leveraging the promotion with IHG PointBreaks properties makes it incredible! IHG PointBreaks promotion allows members to book reward nights at select IHG locations for as little as 5000 points. IHG has improved this promotion, and now includes properties that can be redeemed at 5K, 10K and 15K, and also allows Points+Cash booking!!
The latest PointBreaks list will be made available on Monday, April 30th (Noon) on IHG PointBreaks page and will be valid for bookings and stays between April 30, 2018 and July 31, 2018. While I don’t recommend buying points just to fatten your account balance, purchasing points to use at Pointbreaks properties or to top-up account balance towards a specific redemption, is a good way to go about it. Would you purchase points with 80% bonus this time around?
