Aeroplan and DINR have expanded their partnership, giving Aeroplan members a new way to earn points on restaurant reservations and culinary experiences. The partnership originally launched in October 2025, offering members access to sought-after restaurant reservations, private dining events, and chef collaborations through DINR, a Canadian dining platform.
As of October 15, 2026, the partnership has introduced Aeroplan points earning on eligible reservations and purchases made through DINR Premium. Aeroplan points are now earned through a paid DINR Premium membership, not the free DINR account.
Aeroplan and DINR Partnership – New Points Earning Structure
Aeroplan members with an active DINR Premium membership can now earn points in three ways:
- 1,000 bonus Aeroplan points when you purchase a new paid DINR Premium membership. This is a one-time bonus for the first eligible paid membership year and does not apply to subsequent renewals. Complimentary and trial memberships are excluded.
- 100 Aeroplan points per completed restaurant reservation booked through DINR with an active Premium membership. The points are awarded per eligible reservation, not based on the total restaurant bill.
- 1 Aeroplan point per $1 spent on eligible purchases made through DINR, including select culinary event tickets, chef collaborations, dining experiences, and other eligible products.
For the spending-based earn rate, taxes, delivery fees, and deposits are excluded. Certain products or experiences may also be excluded, and individual transactions may have points-earning caps.
The 1 point per $1 earning rate applies to eligible purchases processed through DINR. This does not mean every dollar spent on your restaurant meal earns Aeroplan points.
DINR Premium Membership – Cost and Benefits
DINR Premium costs $95 CAD per year, plus applicable taxes.
The paid membership offers the free DINR account, priority access to reservations at participating restaurants, exclusive or same-day inventory, and early access to private dining events, DINR Supper Club dinners, and chef collaborations.
Premium members can also request personalized booking assistance for hard-to-get restaurant reservations.
Select restaurants offer additional benefits, such as complimentary welcome beverages or corkage privileges. These benefits vary by restaurant and are not guaranteed with every reservation.
The membership renews each year automatically unless cancelled. Keep in mind that the 1,000-point Aeroplan bonus is awarded only once, not annually.
How to Earn Aeroplan Points with DINR
To take advantage of the new earning structure, Aeroplan members must create a DINR account through the DINR website or mobile app, subscribe to DINR Premium, and add their Aeroplan membership number to it.
Your DINR account must be registered under the same name as your Aeroplan account, and you can link only one Aeroplan number to a DINR account at a time. If you’re already a DINR Premium member, you can link your Aeroplan number and begin earning on eligible future activity.
Link your accounts before making eligible reservations or purchases. Transactions completed before you link your Aeroplan number do not qualify for retroactive points.
A few additional conditions worth keeping in mind:
- Cancelled reservations and no-shows do not earn Aeroplan points. Points may take up to 30 days to appear in your Aeroplan account.
- Eligible ongoing Aeroplan points earned through reservations and purchases can contribute toward Aeroplan Status Qualifying Credits (SQC) at 5 Aeroplan points to 1 SQC. For example, a completed reservation earning 100 Aeroplan points would also contribute 20 SQC toward elite status qualification. This is subject to the annual 25,000 SQC cap applicable to eligible travel and everyday partners.
- The one-time 1,000-point membership bonus does not earn SQC.

Takeaway
The expanded DINR partnership adds a welcome everyday earning opportunity to Aeroplan, especially for members who enjoy dining out or booking unique culinary experiences. However, I would not sign up for DINR Premium just for the Aeroplan points. At $95 per year, the one-time 1,000-point bonus and 100 points per completed reservation are relatively modest rewards. The real value of DINR Premium remains access to restaurant reservations and experiences that might otherwise be hard to book.
My advice from when this partnership originally launched remains unchanged: explore DINR’s free platform before paying for Premium. Browse restaurants and experiences in your city and at destinations you visit regularly. DINR offers restaurants and events across several Canadian cities, but availability and Premium benefits vary by location.
If the restaurant selection works for you and you regularly book through DINR, the Aeroplan points are a useful addition. Otherwise, I would hold off on paying for the membership until there is enough value beyond the points alone.
