Aeroplan and the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO), an Ontario government enterprise responsible for the retail and wholesale of wine, beer, and spirits, have announced a multi-year agreement allowing Aeroplan members to earn points when shopping at LCBO stores across Ontario, Canada. The new partnership is expected to launch in late 2021.
Aeroplan and LCBO partnership
Recall that LCBO’s long term partnership with the AIR MILES Reward Program had ended on March 31, 2021. The Aeroplan partnership should come as a welcome surprise for Canadians, as they can earn and spend Aeroplan points when interacting with LCBO.
Here’s what Canadian’s can expect with the new LCBO partnership;
- New partnership is expected to launch in late 2021
- Earn one Aeroplan point for every $4 spent at LCBO, plus bonus points for purchasing select LCBO products
- Redeem for LCBO Gift Cards starting at just 1,000 Aeroplan points for a $10 LCBO gift card

Take Away
This is a terrific new partnership for Aeroplan members, and if the Aeroplan partnership with Starbucks is anything to go by, I expect the launch offers and the app integration to be just as smooth with LCBO as well. Aeroplan continues to deliver on the promise of making the loyalty program more meaningful for all Canadians, one that they can engage with through everyday purchases.
