Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi in all service cabins, across its network. Talk about elevating in-flight service! In a hyper connected world, staying online 40,000 feet above ground has become an expectation, be it to get work done, or to share a Insta-worthy moment with the world. If you enjoyed the 22 hours in Singapore Suites post by Sash, you know that SIA  enjoys a special fandom amongst frequent flyers. And today’s news goes a step further in justifying why SIA are truly World Class (SIG’s new ad campaign).

Singapore Airlines WiFi – Complimentary and Unlimited

Previously, Business Class customers and PPS Club members enjoyed 100MB worth of complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi. KrisFlyer members travelling in Premium Economy Class and Economy Class were offered a two-hour complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi plan that was optimized for text-only messaging services.

The new complimentary Wi-Fi service is structured around the class of service, and membership in SIG’s PPS Club and KrisFlyer programs;

  • First and Business Class passengers: Complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi access
  • Premium Economy (PY): All KrisFlyer members enjoy three-hour Wi-Fi plan
  • Economy (Y): All KrisFlyer members enjoy two-hour Wi-Fi plan
  • PPS Club members: Complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi access in all service cabins

If you find yourself flying in Premium Economy or Economy cabin, its best to sign-up for the KrisFlyer membership which will unlock the complimentary Wi-Fi benefits. SIA has also unveiled a new attractive and simplified Wi-Fi price plans for those that would like to purchase additional access in PY and Y cabins;

  • One Hour: US$3.99
  • Three Hours: US$8.99
  • Full Flight: US$15.99

These Singapore Airlines Wi-Fi plans are reasonable in my opinion. While I do not have data points to share about expected speed on these plans, but in-flight Wi-Fi service across the industry has improved tremendously and I expect service on SIG to be top notch in that regard as well.

This is fantastic development for frequent, and non-frequent travellers alike. A defined benefit that elevates in-flight experience for all passengers. Yay us!
