Aeroplan and Chexy Launch Partnership with Exciting Offers

Aeroplan has officially announced a multi-year partnership with Chexy, a Canadian fintech platform that enables users to earn rewards on high-value payments like rent, tuition, utility bills, and property taxes. Chexy allows users to pay large expenses using their credit card, even when the original payment method only accepts bank transfers or pre-authorized debit. Aeroplan members can now earn rewards on transactions that typically go unrewarded, build credit through consistent credit card usage, and stack additional benefits when using an Aeroplan co-branded credit card.

Earning Aeroplan Points with Chexy

Chexy allows users to schedule one-time payments or set up recurring payments to pay their monthly expenses, including rent and taxes. To process payments, Chexy charges your credit card three business days before the due date and then pays your biller using their preferred method—Interac e-Transfer, Bill Pay, or Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD).

Fees and Accepted Cards:

• 1.75% flat fee for Canadian-issued Visa and American Express cards

• 2.5% fee for international Visa, Mastercard, or Amex

• Canadian-issued Mastercards are not accepted at this time

Aeroplan Members can earn Aeroplan points by signing up for a Chexy account, activating a payment, and adding their Aeroplan number to their Chexy profile. Once set up, members must make qualifying payments for rent, bills, and taxes to earn points.

Using your Aeroplan credit card to pay Chexy expenses does not automatically earn additional Aeroplan points. To qualify for the limited-time offers and Aeroplan point accrual, you must also link your Aeroplan account to Chexy.

Link Your Aeroplan Account to Chexy:

1. Log in to your Chexy dashboard.

2. Locate the section labelled “Aeroplan” (on desktop, it appears on the right-hand side). Click the Aeroplan button and enter your Aeroplan number.

Launch Offers for New and Existing Members – Ends July 15, 2025

New Chexy users (those completing their first ever payment through Chexy on or after April 15, 2025) who have also successfully added their Aeroplan number to their Chexy account can earn a limited-time bonus of up to 10,000 Aeroplan points by completing the following milestones:

• Open a new Chexy account and make the first payment before July 15^th, 2025 and earn 2,000 points
• Earn an additional 1,000 points following the 12th consecutive monthly payment
• Earn 5,000 points after processing $5,000 in payments within 6 months of activating the first payment
• Earn 500 points for the second and each additional recurring payment (up to a total of four) made within 6 months of activating the first payment, up to 2,000 points.
• All payments need to be a minimum of $50

Existing Chexy users (those who have activated their first payment through Chexy on or before April 14, 2025) can earn up to 4,000 Aeroplan points through the limited-time bonus offer;

• 2,000 Aeroplan Points by completing the following two actions;

• • Add Aeroplan number to Chexy Account during the Offer Period
  • Complete 12th consecutive monthly payments through Chexy (with at least one payment of a minimum of $50 each calendar month).

• Recurring Payment Offer: Earn 500 Aeroplan Points for any additional recurring payments of a minimum $50, up to a maximum of 2,000 Aeroplan Points (4 payments). To qualify, these recurring payments must be activated, and one month of payment must be completed during the Offer Period. Any recurring payments activated before April 15, 2025, are not eligible for this offer. 

Referral Bonus Offer: In addition to the above, both new and existing members can also benefit from a referral bonus;

• Earn 1,000 Aeroplan points per referral (up to 10 referrals) when the referred user completes a payment of at least $50. This bonus is on top of Chexy’s existing referral rewards, which include lower transaction fees!

Supercharge Earnings with an Aeroplan Credit Card

Aeroplan credit cardholders can earn elevated rates when using their card through Chexy. For example, a rent payment of $2950/month can generate 35,400 points/year with an Aeroplan core card or 44,250 points/year with an Aeroplan premium card. Combining utility bills, property taxes, and personal taxes makes Chexy an envious tool for earning welcome bonuses and long-term, sustainable points accumulation.
