Air Canada will double the number of daily landline motorcoach trips operating between Waterloo International Airport (YKF) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), effective December 1, 2025. The current service, which launched earlier in 2024 with five daily round-trips, will increase to ten daily round-trips.

Enhanced Schedule and Connectivity

The doubling up of the Air Canada landline motorcoach service is a direct response to growing customer demand for greater flexibility and better alignment with connection schedules. Passengers departing from or arriving in Kitchener-Waterloo will have broader scheduling windows to align their ground transportation with Air Canada’s outbound and inbound flights at YYZ.

As part of Air Canada’s multi-modal network strategy, this service is integrated into the airline’s ticketing and operations systems. Customers travelling from YKF check in as they would for a flight, with baggage tagged through to their final destination. After boarding an Air Canada-branded luxury coach, passengers are transported directly to YYZ, where they proceed through self-service bag drop and security screening for their connecting flight. Likewise, passengers arriving in Toronto can board a return Landline coach to Waterloo with the same protections and coordination as an air segment on their itinerary.

Air Canada Landline Motorcoach Experience

The service uses premium coaches manufactured by Prevost in Sainte-Claire, Quebec. These motorcoaches feature 36 leather seats in a two-by-one layout for enhanced comfort and spaciousness. Each seat is equipped with a tray table and a power outlet. Additional amenities include:

  • Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi

  • Overhead storage for carry-on items

  • An onboard lavatory

  • Full accessibility, including a power lift for mobility aids

  • Bilingual announcements in English and French

As with other Landline segments, passengers earn and can redeem Aeroplan points for these ground legs. Full trip protection is also included, meaning any disruption to a motorcoach or flight segment triggers the same rebooking and customer service support as traditional air-only itineraries.

Takeaway

Air Canada continues to expand its regional accessibility through its partnership with The Landline Company. The Kitchener-Waterloo route joins a growing list of cities, including Hamilton and Kingston, connected to Pearson via Landline coaches.

The Landline Company operates multi-modal transportation networks on behalf of major airlines, including Air Canada, American Airlines, and Sun Country Airlines.
