Introduction and Location
After an overnight stay at the world’s best airport hotel and experiencing the world’s largest indoor waterfall, I was ready for the world’s best airport for my journey home. My itinerary included a Singapore Airlines Business Class flight from Singapore (SIN) to San Francisco (SFO), followed by a connection on Air Canada from SFO to Toronto (YYZ). Before embarking on the 14+ hour flight to San Francisco, I had the chance to explore the flagship Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Class Lounge in Changi Airport’s Terminal 3.
The lounge is on Level 3 in Terminal 3 of the airport. A short walk from the immigration gates, the beautiful signage of the lounge is hard to miss. I took the escalator up to the main entrance, and I was warmly welcomed by a friendly Singapore Airlines staff member who scanned my boarding pass and directed me to the Business Class section. Across the hallway, the First Class lounge boasted its dedicated check-in area.
Seating and Layout
The SilverKris Business Class Lounge is a spacious and thoughtfully designed space with two primary sections as you enter. To the left lies the livelier area, featuring a live kitchen, buffet, sleeping rooms, showers, and a concierge desk staffed by airline representatives to assist with flight changes or ticketing needs. This section also offers a variety of seating options, making it the central hub of activity within the lounge.
Seating throughout the lounge caters to a range of preferences. Options include communal seating, individual wingback chairs, single-seat private booths, workstations, and leather couches, all equipped with USB and universal plug charging stations.
To the right is a quieter section with a bar and café, light food options, and additional seating areas bathed in natural light. The mezzanine level’s openness to the terminal below and tarmac views enhance this space and provide a relaxed atmosphere, making it an excellent escape from the busier left section. Both sections also feature private booths offering semi-enclosed privacy with decent views of the planes parked at their gates.
Food & Drinks
As expected in a city celebrated for its culinary prowess, the food and drink offerings at the SilverKris Lounge are nothing short of spectacular. The live food station was a highlight of my visit, serving up a delicious Laksa soup that perfectly embodied Singapore.
The buffet featured an impressive variety of Asian and international fare, including dim sum, noodles, curries, Indian snacks, and other Singaporean favourites. A grab-and-go section offered packed sandwiches, muffins, brownies, fresh fruit, and salads for travellers in a rush.
Drinks were equally abundant, with a bar featuring spirits, beers, and a fruit-infused water station. The main bar on the right side of the lounge doubled as a barista coffee station in the morning (6 a.m. to 10 a.m.) and transitioned to serving evening cocktails from 5:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. For convenience, self-serve options for both coffee and alcoholic beverages were available around the clock.
The smaller buffet on the quieter right-hand side offered a more limited but satisfying selection, including scrambled eggs, spring rolls, sausages, dumplings, yogurt, juices, and alcoholic beverages.
Other Lounge Amenities
Beyond the standard offerings, the lounge included a staffed concierge desk to assist passengers with flight changes, upgrades, and new bookings. The desk’s sleek design and personalized service truly elevated the lounge experience.
One of the most popular features was the 14 sleeping rooms, marked by doors with a recliner logo. These rooms, equipped with full-length sleeper chairs, are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Given their popularity, I recommend speaking to the concierge desk upon check-in to reserve one as soon as it becomes available. From my observation, there were no strict time limits for using the sleeping rooms, making them an invaluable resource during layovers.
The shower facilities were another highlight. They featured grey marble walls, a large vanity mirror, and a rain shower option—perfect before my lengthy 14-hour flight.
Takeaway
The Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Class Lounge at T3 delivers on its flagship promise in both design and functionality. The extensive food selection and seating options catered to diverse needs, while the strong Wi-Fi connection seamlessly supported my live sports streaming.
Amenities like the sleeping rooms, luxurious showers, and a well-curated bar with hand-served cocktails elevated the lounge experience. The quiet, naturally lit section away from the main buffet and bar areas provided a much-needed escape during peak hours and quickly became my favourite lounge section.
Whether you want to enjoy gourmet dining, relax in a serene space, or access premium services like the concierge desk, the SilverKris Business Class Lounge sets a high standard. If you fly out of T3 at Changi Airport, this lounge should be your go-to.
