RBC Avion Elite members can convert their Avion points to British Airways (BA) Avios with a 30% bonus. The 30% transfer bonus is available until June 19, 2026, and provides excellent value for those looking to maximize their points travel.
30% Transfer Bonus – Convert RBC Avion to British Airways Avios

To take advantage of this promotion, members must convert at least 10,000 Avion points. For every 10,000 Avion points converted, they will receive 13,000 BA Avios. The standard conversion from RBC Avion to BA Avios is 1:1, and this bonus adds an additional 30%.
You can convert your points directly on the Avion Rewards page with a straightforward process. To initiate a transfer, you need at least 10,000 Avion points, and the name on your Avios account must match the name on your RBC Avion credit card.
The RBC transfer page does not display the additional 30% bonus. However, British Airways Executive Club will show the bonus once the transfer completes. Also, once you convert the points, you cannot reverse the transfer or move the points back to your RBC Avion account.

The RBC Avion Visa Infinite is among the most popular credit cards for earning Avion points. New cardholders can earn an all-time high of up to 70,000 Avion points as a welcome bonus until July 15, 2026. With the current 30% transfer bonus offer, 70,000 Avion points would convert into 91,500 BA Avios. Other cards that qualify for this promotion include;
- RBC Avion Visa Platinum
- RBC Avion Visa Infinite
- RBC Avion Visa Business Infinite
- RBC Royal Bank Visa Business Platinum Avion
- RBC Avion Visa Infinite Privilege for Private Banking.
One of the most appealing aspects of this transfer is its potential for booking premium travel. Many Canadians use their Avios for Qatar Airways redemptions, particularly for the highly regarded Qsuite business class. With 90,000 Avios, it is possible to book Qatar’s Qsuite from Toronto to Doha (and have 20,000 Avios left over), a recently added route alongside the existing Montreal to Doha service. For those seeking luxury travel, this promotion provides an easy way to accumulate enough Avios for a top-tier experience.

Should you Convert RBC Avion to BA Avios?
The 30% transfer bonus is very popular among points maximizers, allowing you to leverage BA Avios’ distance-based award chart, where sweet spots go well beyond Qatar Qsuite. Keep in mind, you can move Avios freely between British Airways, Qatar, and Finnair, allowing you to take advantage of all their unique sweet spots:
- Cathay Pacific business class Vancouver – Hong Kong for 85,000 Finnair Avios
- Japan Airlines business class New York – Tokyo for 94,500 Finnair Avios
- Iberia business class Toronto – Madrid for 40,500 British Airways / Qatar Avios
- LATAM business class Buenos Aires – New York for 75,500 Qatar Avios
- Short-haul flights on American Airlines for 13,000 Qatar Avios
Personally, I save all my RBC Avion points for American Airlines AAdvantage, but moving to Avios makes sense if you have a use case already in mind and are ready to book. It also depends on how flush your Amex MR balance is, as that’s the other primary way to earn Avios.
Alternatively, if you redeem points for travel within North America, you should consider using RBC’s fixed redemption chart instead of converting Avion points to BA Avios.
