Where did January go? It’s Feb 1st, and your MGM tier status has now been reset for 2023. You like cheap Vegas hotels, but don’t really gamble enough to make MGM status based on spend. Fear not, the generous ‘Hyatt MGM status match’ is alive and well, and it’s time to match your Hyatt status to MGM tier status. Here’s how;
Hyatt MGM Status match
Thanks to the partnership, World of Hyatt (WoH) members receive a matched tier with MGM Rewards which unlocks exclusive perks like discounts on room rates, waived resort fees, room upgrades, Qualifying Night credit towards WoH elite status, etc. The highest tier status you can match to in MGM Rewards is the Gold tier status;

Today, since my MGM Rewards tier status reset for 2023, my status dropped from Gold to Sapphire.
However, I completed the status match and activated my MGM Gold tier status until January 31, 2024. Here is the step-by-step of the process;
- Log in to your World of Hyatt account through the Direct link to the status match
- Click on the ‘Opt in’ button which initiates the MGM Rewards login process (if you don’t have a MGM Rewards account already, create one before you start this process)
- Once you log into the MGM Rewards account, the Hyatt MGM status match is completed, and an auto message confirming the same should pop-up;
- Congratulations, your new MGM tier status should now be active again. My MGM status updated instantly;
As a WoH Globalist member, I successfully matched my status to MGM Gold. The perks I most look forward to during my MGM stays are;
- Priority Check-in
- Complimentary Room Upgrade
- Waived Resort fee
- VIP line access at select nightclubs
- Dedicated line at participating restaurants
