Lufthansa is making steady progress on its Allegris rollout, adding a new route to Kuala Lumpur and significantly increasing the number of cities receiving Allegris aircraft.

Beginning October 25, 2026, Lufthansa will begin flying 5X weekly to Malaysia’s capital on its Boeing 787-9. The Frankfurt–Kuala Lumpur (KUL) service, operating as flight LH704, features Lufthansa’s all-new FOX soft product, upgraded catering, an in-air cake-and-coffee moment, and dine-on-demand for the second meal.

Kuala Lumpur is a brand-new destination for Lufthansa and, combined with Singapore, which is also getting Allegris-equipped cabins, shows Lufthansa’s dedication to strengthening its network in Southeast Asia. Although Asia overall is getting additional route capacity, as Lufthansa is adding two additional flights a week to Chennai. As is the theme of this article, Chennai will also be getting the Boeing 787-9 with Allegris cabins.

Lufthansa Allegris Routes from Munich and Frankfurt

With both Munich and Frankfurt now operating the Allegris product, additional A350-900s and Boeing 787-9s will join the network, each outfitted with the new cabins. It’s great to see Lufthansa’s Boeing 787-9s mostly certified (25 of 28 seats are certified as of March), which significantly increases Allegris capacity.

Note Lufthansa does have equipment changes, so double-check you’re on Allegris aircraft even for the routes below.

You should look for the “Allegris: New seat concept” tag while booking to ensure you get the right product. A full list of updated destinations and Allegris routes can be found here.

Lufthansa Allegris

Confirm on Lufthansa website your flight is “Allegris: New seat concept”

Swiss is joining Lufthansa in launching a flight to Bengaluru (BLR) as part of its Winter 2026/27 schedule and adding Swiss Senses (same concept as Allegris) flights to Johannesburg (JNB) and Shanghai (PVG) on its A350.

Allegris: Cabin Design and Configuration

On the Airbus A350-900, the standard Allegris configuration includes 4 First Class suites, 38 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 201 Economy Class seats. The Boeing 787-9 fleet now entering service from Frankfurt mirrors this configuration, minus first class cabins.

Lufthansa Allegris Business Double Suite

The Allegris Business Class on the A350-900 and 787-9 are arranged in a staggered layout that blends 1-2-1 configurations and offers seven distinct seat types, with options for space, privacy, or proximity to the aisle. At the front of the cabin are the Business Suites, semi-enclosed pods with sliding doors that provide a heightened sense of privacy. Window-side “single suites” offer extra personal space, while the central “double suites” feature adjustable partitions, ideal for couples travelling together. Additional seat types include Extra Space seats, Privacy seats, and Extra-Long Bed seats. Confused yet?!

Anshul and I both experienced the new seat concept (Anshul on Swiss Senses A350 and myself on Lufthansa Allegris A350) and were highly impressed by the Business Suites in particular. In my humble opinion, this is the best business class seat in the sky and worth seeking out.

Allegris First Class Suite Plus

On the A350-900, Allegris First Class cabin consists of just three suites in a 1-2-1 layout, each offering floor-to-ceiling privacy and a fully enclosed environment. Two Single Suites sit by the windows, while the Suite Plus, a double suite, is designed for two passengers who wish to dine or rest together.

Lufthansa’s Boeing 787-9s do not feature first class cabins.

New Allegris Premium Economy

Even beyond the premium cabins, the new Allegris Premium Economy features wider seats with individual armrests, leg rests, and integrated personal storage.

Booking Lufthansa Allegris routes on points

My preferred program to book Lufthansa flights is Aeroplan. As things stand, Lufthansa award bookings on Aeroplan do not follow the dynamic chart for preferred partners. Lufthansa’s last-minute availability on Aeroplan is consistent and offers a predictable pricing for the most part. Note that “LH is only available at the last minute on Aeroplan” is a myth. I have also seen and booked several business-class flights on LH 3-6 months in advance. They are just not as consistent as the last-minute availability is. Here is an example of Allegris Business Class award availability from August 2026 🙂

The Future of Allegris

Lufthansa’s Allegris project began in 2017, so it’s nice to finally see solid progress, especially since 2024, with Allegris now flying to many destinations on a regular basis. Throughout the next few years, Lufthansa will continue to receive new aircraft deliveries, which will further increase Allegris’s capacity.

Lufthansa plans to retrofit existing A350-900s and Boeing 747-8s with Allegris and eventually retire its A340-600s, A340-300s, and Boeing 747-400s. Its existing A330-300s will likely go to a Lufthansa Group subsidiary and none of these will be retrofitted with Allegris. Lufthansa also has Boeing 787-9s with reverse herringbone seats (originally intended for Hainan Airlines) that will be handed off to Austrian Airlines once new aircraft deliveries come in. Notably, Lufthansa is retrofitting A380s with a new business cabin that is not Allegris.
