PointsU YYZ 2018
This will be the 4th edition of the national conference that brings together the Canadian Points & Miles community under one roof. Previous iterations have been held at YVR, YYZ, YYC and the conference has grown from strength to strength, focusing on Canadian centric information for its members. Having attended all previous iterations, I can attest that this is the place to be if you want to network with like-minded Canadians in this hobby.
PointsU events cover an array of topics for members from across the spectrum in the points & miles world, some popular sessions include;
- Manufactured Spending in Canada
- Aeroplan alternatives – Avios, WestJet and Alaska!
- Loyalty programs – Award booking and sweet spots
- Chasing elite status – Meeting status challenges and matching requirements
- Getting US credit cards
Although a complete agenda for this years event is still under works, here is a look at last years agenda – gives a good idea of the depth and breadth of the sessions on hand.
As with most conferences of this nature, the biggest perk of attending is Networking: meeting other bloggers and experts of the community, in person, and expanding go-to resources (gateway to closed social media groups) are benefits not available online.
Regardless of where you are in the learning curve of this hobby, there is something for everyone at PointsU YYZ 2018 and I highly recommend attending the event. Remember, if you haven’t registered yet, head to the PointsU website and use discount code ‘TRAVELUPDATE‘ at checkout, to save $20 CAD.
