LOT Business Lounge ORD – Location and Access
During my layover in ORD before my EVA Flight to Hong Kong, I discovered the LOT Airlines Business Class lounge, 2 minutes from my departure gate, located next to the Air France Lounge between Gate M17 and M18 of Terminal 5 in ORD. A small but well-laid-out Star Alliance lounge. Entry requires either a business class boarding pass on a Star Alliance carrier or Star Alliance Gold Status.

It is the only Star Alliance lounge in Terminal 5 at ORD. Aside from the Air France lounge next door, there is also a Delta lounge and a Swissport lounge that Priority Pass members can access. I did pop into Swissport quickly since I had Priority Pass access… AVOID !! (tiny, overcrowded, and poor food options)

After you go through the main doors and are verified at the reception desk, walking down a hallway, the bathrooms are to the left, and the shower room (bookable at reception ) is to the right. Straight ahead after the bathroom is the main dining space. Soft music was played in the background, and no flight announcements were made. I did find the lounge a little noisy even though it was less than half full.

The main seating area features mostly light brown and grey seating with white tables, and an eye-catching copper-coloured chandelier above that will captivate your view.

The lounge has floor-to-ceiling glass windows facing the gates, so I was pleasantly surprised to see flights taking off at the windows at the end of the lounge. Additional seating consisted of beige leather couches with white granite countertops with charging stations underneath that faced the glass windows.

There were copper light fixtures on the granite counters, and this copper colour matched the elegant copper colored chain chandelier on the ceiling that adds great character and elegance to the lounge, as its colour also blends in with the chairs.
There is a long granite table with high-top wooden chairs offering a perfect view of the flights taking off at the far end of the lounge. Best seat in the house, in my opinion, on a bright, sunny day!! I was there at night, so the view wasn’t the best, but you still got to see flights take off every few minutes.

Lastly, to the right of this countertop and to the left of the bar, tucked away, is a quiet area with three reclining seats if you wanted to catch a quick nap before your flight. There was no children’s area or baby-changing room that I could observe in this lounge. There was a monitor with flight information, though no flight announcements are made in the lounge.

LOT Business Lounge ORD – Food & Drinks
To the left of the main seating area is the food station, and to the right is the main bar that is very well stocked with both Polish and international spirits on the back wall. There are also 8 bar stools around it as another seating option.

The main buffet station’s cold food options during my stay included salad, fresh vegetables, fruit salad, cheeses, cold deli meats, and fish. There was also fresh fruit available. Hot foods included barley soup, shrimp and pork jambalaya, chicken cacciatore, and Polish pierogies.

Desserts consisted of individually cut cakes. A self-serve coffee station offered a range of espresso-based drinks, and the self-serve fountain drink machine was next to it. A stop at the bar is a must!! The Crane (that uses Polish Vodka) and the Krupnik Spritz (that uses a Polish honey liqueur) are both great options.

Takeaway
I would compare the size of this lounge to that of the LOT Polish Airlines Lounge reviewed in Warsaw, though this lounge had a better view of the flights than the one in Warsaw, which was enclosed and offered only airport views. The views of the planes and the bar selection alone are just two reasons to visit this lounge. The food selection was quite good with many options to choose from. I tried not to fill up or drink too much since I had my Eva Royal Laurel Business class flight coming up.
I would give this lounge a strong 8 out of 10. It’s definitely a nice lounge, tucked away and a little noisy, but worth a visit!!
