Alaska Airlines has introduced Atmos Rewards, a reimagined loyalty program that combines Alaska Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles programs into one unified platform. The program is designed to provide members with more flexibility in how they earn, redeem, and maximize their benefits across Alaska, Hawaiian, and over 30 partner airlines. Alaska Mileage Plan members will automatically become Atmos Rewards members, and HawaiianMiles members will transition to Atmos Rewards on October 1, 2025.

Atmost Rewards – Flexible Earning Options

In an industry first move, the new program allows members to choose how they earn both points and status points when flying. Members will be able to select their preferred earning method once a year, beginning in 2026.

  • By distance travelled – earn 1 point for every mile flown, suited for long-haul and international travellers.

  • By price paid – earn 5 points per $1 spent on airfare and upgrades, a strong option for premium cabin flyers.

  • By segments flown – earn a flat 500 points per flight segment, ideal for short-haul frequent flyers.

Atmost Rewards – Redeeming Points

Atmos Rewards points can be redeemed for flights on Alaska, Hawaiian, and partner airlines, including oneworld members.

  • Award flights starting at 4,500 points one-way.

  • Hotel Stays and vacation rentals.

  • Exclusive events and travel experiences.

Rebranded Credit Cards

With the launch, Alaska’s co-branded credit cards are being rebranded under the Atmos Rewards name, while Hawaiian Airlines cards remain unchanged:

  • Alaska Airlines Visa Signature® → Atmos Rewards Ascent Visa Signature®.

  • Alaska Airlines Visa® Business → Atmos Rewards Visa® Business.

  • Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Mastercard® continues with its current name and benefits.

Current cardholders will automatically receive new Atmos-branded cards upon renewal, with no action required.

The program will also introduce a new premium credit card option. The Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® Card offers enhanced benefits like 1 status point for every $2 spent, a global companion award, and faster progress toward milestones and status.

Atmos Rewards has also unveiled its milestone-based perks beginning at 10,000 status points, with options like complimentary meals, flight discounts, bonus points, or Alaska Lounge passes.

Transition for Existing Members

All existing balances, benefits, and redemption values remain intact. Points do not expire.

  • Alaska Mileage Plan members are already Atmos Rewards members as of today, and account numbers remain unchanged. All miles have become Atmos Rewards points at a 1:1 ratio.
  • HawaiianMiles members will transition automatically on October 1, 2025. If not previously linked to a Mileage Plan account, they will receive a new Atmos Rewards account number.
    • August 20 – September 30, 2025: Members may use either their HawaiianMiles or Atmos Rewards number when booking.
    • October 1, 2025 and onward: Use your Atmos Rewards number. Any existing bookings made with a HawaiianMiles number for travel after October 1 will be automatically updated.
Takeaway

The new Atmost Rewards program combines Alaska Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles into one unified platform. Existing members of both programs will keep their balances and benefits, with additional ways to earn and redeem being added in 2026. While the transition of Aalska Mileage Plan is automatic and immediate, the transition for HawaiianMiles members will be completed on October 1, 2025. We will do a deeper dive into other benefits and perks of the program as it unfolds in 2025 and into 2026.

Does barclays Hawaiian points transfer benefit remain? Will it become atmos points transfers free? The high end atmos has this benefit but I wonder if barclays retains it

Looks like a good program, compared to what we have in Canada, especially with AC.
