Update September 22, 2026:

As of late January, Air Canada is resuming Toronto–Dubai. The post has been updated accordingly.

Note that in late January 2027, Air Canada will be discontinuing its Vancouver–Singapore route.

It was only a few months ago that Air Canada relaunched its nonstop service between Toronto and Shanghai for the first time since 2020. That got me thinking about just how far Air Canada can take us without a stop. Let’s look at the ten longest flights in its network and, more importantly, the best ways to book them using points.

This first article focuses on the routes themselves. In a separate article, we’ll go through all 10 again and look at how to book each one with points, including when another airline makes more sense.

By definition, I’m using map distance rather than flight time, since block time can be longer for various reasons, such as wind, weather, schedule padding, etc. The following are Air Canada’s longest flights visualized on Great Circle Mapper and then we’ll discuss each one a little more in-depth below.

AC 10 longest flights

Air Canada’s 10 Longest Flights

TL;DR: Air Canada’s longest nonstop flight in 2026 is Vancouver (YVR) to Sydney (SYD), followed by Vancouver to Brisbane (BNE) and Vancouver to Bangkok (BKK). Five of Air Canada’s seven longest routes depart Vancouver, while four of the top 10 depart Toronto and one departs Montreal. Most of the routes are operated by the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

What are Air Canada’s 10 Longest Flights?

Unsurprisingly, Air Canada’s top 4 longest flights depart from Vancouver and Vancouver’s transpacific network takes 5 of the top 7 slots.

Toronto squeezes in 4 flights, and there’s a single flight from Montreal that squeaks its way into the top ten.

Notably, Air Canada has flown other longer flights that would’ve surpassed a few on this list, but are no longer flying at the time of this article’s publication: Toronto (YYZ) – Mumbai (BOM) and Vancouver (YVR) – Dubai (DXB).

Below, we discuss Air Canada’s longest flights in order from longest to shortest.

Vancouver (YVR) – Singapore (SIN)

Air Canada’s longest flight is just about 200 miles longer than Sydney; it runs all year and 4x a week, flying to Singapore on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and flying back to Vancouver on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

This route launched in 2024 and is usually operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Vancouver (YVR) – Sydney (SYD)

Vancouver (YVR)–Sydney (SYD) has been running since 2007 and is the longest-established route in the top 10 list today. Air Canada flies daily on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner (Boeing 777-200LR during winter schedule). Qantas, a member of Oneworld, competes on this route.

Vancouver (YVR) – Brisbane (BNE)

Like the flights above, Air Canada operates Vancouver (YVR)–Brisbane (BNE) on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and has served Brisbane since 2016. The frequency is not daily and switches between six and seven times a week depending on the season.

This is actually the longest flight I’ve ever taken, and it certainly felt that way in the air when I awoke from a 7-hour nap to find I still had 5 hours of flight time left.

Vancouver (YVR) – Bangkok (BKK)

Vancouver (YVR)–Bangkok (BKK) launched as a seasonal service in 2022, and its success has led to it becoming year-round as of Summer 2026. Air Canada flies A Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on this route.

This is my (to me) the most interesting flight in the top 10, and to this day, the only airline to fly nonstop between North America and Bangkok. United has since started flying to Bangkok in 2025, but as an extension of existing flights to Hong Kong (meaning the flights have a stop in Hong Kong). PMB writer Emily recently flew this route in Economy, and here is her full review.

Toronto (YYZ) – Delhi (DEL)

Toronto (YYZ)–Delhi (DEL) flies daily as a year-round service on the Boeing 777-200LR. It does compete with Air India, which operates this route 10 times a week. Once again, thanks to Emily’s work travel, we have a full review of what it is to fly this route in the Economy cabin.

Toronto (YYZ) – Shanghai (PVG)

As the newest route on this list, Air Canada restarted Toronto (YYZ)–Shanghai (PVG) service in June 2026. Air Canada stopped this route in 2020, so it’s been a six-year pause. Air Canada operates a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner here. China Eastern also flies this exact route and is a member of SkyTeam.

Vancouver (YVR) – Auckland (AKL)

Air Canada’s longest (by distance) seasonal service, Vancouver (YVR)–Auckland (AKL), runs four times weekly on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. From December to March, through southern summer, Air Canada flies west to Auckland four times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. In the opposite direction towards Vancouver, Air Canada flies on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Interestingly, the last two weeks of operation in March 2027 show Air Canada flying westbound to Auckland on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and a single Friday.

Air New Zealand flies this route, also.

Montreal (YUL) – Delhi (DEL)

Originally launched in October 2021 as a 3X-weekly year-round service, the current schedule shows it operating 5 times weekly through the winter season aboard a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Toronto (YYZ) – Dubai (DXB)

First launched in 2015, Toronto (YYZ)–Dubai (DXB) is scheduled to resume on January 15, 2027, following an extended suspension related to the conflict in the Middle East. Air Canada will operate the year-round route daily with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, competing with Emirates and its substantially larger Airbus A380.

Air Canada YYZ-DXB

Toronto (YYZ) – Osaka (KIX)

Toronto (YYZ)–Osaka (KIX) has been operating since 2024 on a 3X-weekly seasonal basis from June to October and is technically a route resumption, as Air Canada flew it from 1997 to 2000.  A Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner operates this route.

June–October is certainly an interesting schedule and explains why I never knew this route existed; I typically travel to Japan between October and April.

Takeaway

Air Canada’s long-haul network is fairly impressive, as being able to fly nonstop from Canada to Singapore, Bangkok, Australia, India, China, Japan, and South Korea saves time and removes the hassle and risk that comes with positioning flights and additional connections.
