Emirates continues to invest heavily in India, announcing two notable upgrades to its network beginning on October 25, 2026. The airline will introduce its flagship Airbus A380 to Delhi for the first time and expand Premium Economy across more routes nationwide.
By the end of October, Emirates will offer Premium Economy on flights to six Indian cities, making it much easier for travellers to book the airline’s newest cabin product.
Emirates Brings the A380 to Delhi
Beginning October 25, Emirates’ daily EK512/513 service between Dubai (DXB) and Delhi (DEL) will be upgraded to the Airbus A380 in a four-class configuration.

Delhi becomes the third Indian destination served by the Emirates A380, joining Mumbai (BOM) and Bengaluru (BLR).
The A380 will complement Emirates’ three other daily Delhi flights, all operated by retrofitted four-class Boeing 777 aircraft. As a result, all four daily flights between Dubai and Delhi will feature Premium Economy.
Premium Economy Continues Expanding Across India
The other major announcement is the continued rollout of Emirates’ Premium Economy cabin across India.
Beginning October 25, Emirates’ daily Kolkata (CCU) to Dubai (DXB) service, EK570/571, will switch from a Boeing 777 to the Airbus A350. Combined with the five-times-weekly retrofitted Boeing 777 operating EK572/573, Premium Economy will be available on all 12 weekly flights between Kolkata and Dubai.

By the end of October, Emirates will offer Premium Economy on flights to:
- Delhi: four daily flights
- Mumbai: 22 weekly flights
- Ahmedabad: nine weekly flights
- Bengaluru: seven weekly flights
- Kolkata: 12 weekly flights
- Kochi: two weekly flights
Depending on the route, Premium Economy will be available aboard the Airbus A380, Airbus A350, or retrofitted Boeing 777.
Why India
The investment in India isn’t surprising. The Indian subcontinent is one of the most important growth stories in commercial aviation, with rising demand for international travel and local airlines rapidly expanding their fleets.
For Emirates, India has long been one of its largest markets. The airline currently serves nine Indian gateways: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Thiruvananthapuram, with 167 weekly flights to Dubai and onward connections to nearly 140 destinations worldwide.

Emirates A350
What’s particularly interesting is that Emirates isn’t simply adding more seats, but it’s also expanding access to its newest products. Premium Economy is steadily becoming available on a much larger share of the airline’s network rather than being limited to a handful of flagship routes.
Good News for Canadian Travellers
While these changes don’t directly affect Emirates’ Canadian routes, they’re still good news for Canadians travelling to India.
Emirates currently serves Toronto (YYZ) with the Airbus A380 and Montréal (YUL) with the Airbus A350, both of which feature Premium Economy. As Emirates expands the cabin across India, Canadians connecting through Dubai will have more opportunities to book Premium Economy on both legs of their journey instead of mixing cabins.
That makes Emirates an increasingly attractive option for travellers looking for something more comfortable than Economy without paying Business Class prices.
Takeaway
Emirates continues to double down on one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets. The arrival of the A380 in Delhi is a notable milestone, but the broader story is the continued expansion of Premium Economy across India.
By the end of October, Premium Economy will be available on flights to six Indian cities, giving travellers more choice and making it easier to book a consistent Premium Economy experience from Canada to India via Dubai.
