PC Optimum is offering 10,000 bonus points for every $100 spent on select gift cards through September 2, 2026 as part of its Moredays promotions. Since 10,000 PC Optimum points are normally worth $10, that amounts to a straightforward 10% return.
Gift cards do not normally earn PC Optimum points, which makes this promotion particularly appealing. The eligible brands are practical, too, with Uber, DoorDash, Indigo and several major clothing retailers included. Still, only buy credit you realistically expect to use.
Earn 10% Back on Select Gift Cards
From August 27 to September 2, PC Optimum members can earn 10,000 points for every $100 spent on any combination of gift cards from:
- DoorDash
- Gap Inc. brands, including Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic and Athleta
- Google Play
- H&M
- Indigo
- Uber and Uber Eats
No registration is required. Members can find the promotion by opening the PC Optimum app and scrolling through their available offers. The offer does not need to be loaded or activated, but members must scan their registered PC Optimum account when purchasing in-store or use the account connected to their online Shoppers Drug Mart or Pharmaprix purchase.
PC Optimum Gift Card offer
Members can mix and match eligible brands, but each $100 threshold must be reached in a single transaction. For example, a $50 Uber gift card and a $50 Indigo gift card should earn 10,000 points.
The wording “for every $100” means the bonus applies in complete $100 increments. A $200 purchase should earn 20,000 points, whereas spending $150 should still earn only 10,000 points. Separate transactions cannot be combined to reach the threshold.
There is no published overall limit on the number of points members can earn. However, Loblaw reserves the right to limit gift-card quantities, and individual stores may impose their own purchase or activation limits. Google Play gift card purchases are capped at $200.
Where to Buy Gift Cards
The promotion is available in-store at participating Loblaws, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, Fortinos, Zehrs, Your Independent Grocer, Atlantic Superstore, Dominion, Maxi and Provigo locations. It is also available at Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix, including online at shoppersdrugmart.ca/giftcards and pharmaprix.ca/giftcards.
Members must have a registered PC Optimum account, but they do not need to load the offer beforehand. Members also cannot combine the promotion with another gift card offer or use PC Optimum points to pay for the gift cards.
Those buying through Shoppers Drug Mart or Pharmaprix should allow up to three weeks for the points to appear.
The offer can also stack with rewards earned when using the gift card. Eligible Uber purchases can continue earning Aeroplan points, while eligible DoorDash orders can earn 5 PC Optimum points per $1 spent after the accounts are linked. Members can therefore earn PC Optimum points when buying the gift card and again when spending the DoorDash balance. The credit card used to buy the gift cards will also accrue its usual rewards.
A Quick Primer on PC Optimum
PC Optimum is Loblaw’s free loyalty program, covering its grocery banners, Shoppers Drug Mart, Pharmaprix, Esso and Mobil.
The standard redemption value is fixed:
10,000 PC Optimum points = $10
That makes each point worth 0.1 cents. Redemptions generally begin at 10,000 points and continue in 10,000-point increments at participating stores.
How members earn points depends on where they shop. Regular PC Optimum members generally do not earn a standard number of points for every dollar spent at Loblaw grocery stores. Most grocery earnings come from personalized app offers, flyer promotions, product-specific bonuses and spending-threshold offers.
Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix award 15 points per dollar on most eligible purchases, equivalent to a 1.5% return before any promotional bonuses.
At Esso and Mobil, members earn at least 10 points per litre of fuel, worth one cent per litre. They also earn 10 points per dollar on eligible convenience-store and car-wash purchases. At Esso and Mobil, members earn a base 10 points per litre of fuel. Linking PC Optimum to the Esso and Mobil app and paying through the app adds another 10 points per litre. Members can link their Esso/Mobil and DoorDash accounts under Your Offers → Manage Partners in the PC Optimum app.

PC Optimum is therefore only partly an automatic rewards program. Shoppers, Pharmaprix, Esso and Mobil provide fixed base earnings, while earning at Loblaw grocery stores depends heavily on available offers. Members who plan purchases around those offers can do well, but simply scanning a card at the grocery store may earn surprisingly little.
Can 10,000 Points Be Worth More Than $10?
Although 10,000 points are normally worth $10, Shoppers Drug Mart periodically offers Bonus Redemption Events.
During a recent event, members could redeem:
- 50,000 points for $65 off
- 100,000 points for $140 off
- 200,000 points for $300 off
- 350,000 points for $500 off
The 200,000-point level increased the value from $200 to $300, or 0.15 cents per point. The exact levels vary, but waiting for a good redemption promotion can provide considerably more value than redeeming points for groceries at the standard rate.
The 10,000 points earned per $100 in gift cards could therefore provide up to $15 toward a future Shoppers purchase, increasing the effective return from 10% to 15%.
Of course, this only works if you can find enough reasonably priced merchandise you actually want. Shoppers often charges more than Walmart, Amazon or grocery stores for everyday items. Cosmetics, fragrances, sale items and products with consistent retail pricing tend to make the most sense.
Honestly, I would value the points at the standard $10 unless I already had a specific Shoppers redemption in mind. The potential $15 value is real, but it requires more points, patience and another purchase. In the past, Shoppers had a wide selection of electronics, which was great value because video game consoles had standard pricing across different stores.
Takeaway
This is a good promotion for anyone who already spends money with Uber, DoorDash, Indigo or the other participating brands. A 10% return is meaningful, especially on purchases that do not ordinarily earn PC Optimum points.
Buy in exact $100 increments, attach your PC Optimum account and consider saving the points for a strong Shoppers Drug Mart redemption event. Just do not let a 10% return convince you to prepay for spending that may never happen.
