Aeroplan and Amazon have teamed up to launch a new promotion for Amazon Prime Day this October. Earn up to 10X on Aeroplan eStore, save 15% on Amazon gift cards, and save 15% on all eStore merchandise.
Earn up to 10X through Aeroplan eStore
You are eligible to earn up to 12X the points when shopping on Amazon in eligible categories through the Aeroplan eStore. This is a special Prime Day promotion, running October 6-7.
Essentially, everyone is eligible for 10X, and Aeroplan Elite members earn an extra 2X for a total of 12X.
You can check out the full list of eligible categories on the Amazon eStore page, and here’s a highlight reel of 10X categories:
- Clothing & Accessories
- Amazon-Branded items like Fashion Private Brands, Kindle E-readers, Fire Devices, Echo & Alexa Accessories
- Shoes, Handbags, Wallets, Sunglasses
Make sure you’re clicking through to Amazon from the eStore to track earnings. As a reminder, you should be going through the eStore for all Amazon purchases even when there isn’t a special promotion to stack at least 1X Aeroplan points on Amazon purchases on top of your usual credit card rewards.
Redeem for Amazon Gift Cards + Gift Cards on Sale
For the sake of being thorough, I’ll add that Aeroplan is offering savings of up to 15% when redeeming for Amazon and Costco gift cards and merchandise. This promotion lasts longer than Prime Day, only expiring October 18.

Although these options are better than usual, redeeming Aeroplan points for gift cards is still not the best use of your points. Aside from flights, redeeming Aeroplan points for hotels is a decent option.
Looking at the gift card redemptions, you’re getting 0.71 cents per point (CPP) and with a 15% discount, it’s still only 0.84 CPP, both well below my personal valuation of 2.0 CPP for Aeroplan.
Takeaway
If you’re shopping on Amazon during Prime Day anyway, register for the contest and click through the Aeroplan eStore first. Earning up to 12X points on eligible purchases is nothing to scoff at, and there’s meaningful upside for something you may have planned to buy anyway.
As always, don’t overlook the Aeroplan eStore outside of special promotions. Even when Amazon isn’t offering elevated earn rates, earning extra Aeroplan points on purchases you were already going to make is one of the easiest ways to boost your balance throughout the year.
